My Failure up the road to success!!!
As teenage Parents both Carlos and I struggled to pay for the bills.
We both held jobs but were paid less than your average hourly wage.
I was making $2 an hour while he made $5
I quit many jobs where my talent was underutilized and where they judged me by age.
Knowing that we wanted more and needed to secure our little girls
future we did it all Dish washer, Factory labor, Pizza Delivery, Janitorial, anything
and everything we can get our hands on.
After promising that we would find a safe and secure position with the telephone
company we both applied. After I interviewed against more than 200.00 applicants
and trained with 20 people only 6 were chosen.
One of them was me I felt happy and a sense of security.
But now one prepared me for what was I saw. People who have let go of their dreams.
People who as children dream of going after whatever they
want to be and whatever they want to do, turn into extremely scared individuals.
At this office people argued about time off. They were disgruntled about seniority
they even argued about what time lunch was at.
I was even told at one point if you play your cards right after 10 years you can
get a Christmas eve off.
What!!!! OMG are you serious ten years I was 20 at the time.
When I saw these people they looked like they aged
faster then the average person.
Never I did not want anyone to control my future.
I stood there because there was a project manager assistant position open.
I thought I can do that then work my way up to management.
All reviews before that I passed in flying colors I was
always doing more than expected.
Come time to go through the process of weeding out the person who
would have that position. I was not even looked at my request
for the position not only was ignored but lost.
After that I knew I never wanted to be there again.
I stayed on 2 weeks more because at this point Carlos had already started the
business from home. i wanted to make sure that it was a money maker.
Sure enough it grew and I left no reason no call no gesture of thanks for having me
I simply never returned.
I wonder what the women at Ameritech said that Monday morning when I never showed
and never came back. I wonder if they thought I was a big dummy.
Well I was a DUMMY I admit, but a dummy for not leaving sooner.
Because I left I have become so much more than what I planned on
and still making more things happen.

Thanks So much for the Steve Jobs vid. While my story at this moment is not direclty business related, something new is slowly dawning wihin me as well. My Mom just recently went to be with the Lord and now a new business idea is being birthed in her honor. The name of the business is Sarah’s Source… more to come. Thanks, again.

Still working light construction and a****le deep in debt. Need to do something. I have to say I’ve learned a lot but need to get it applied.
From a grandparents point of view, just keep walking kids, I’m jealous in a “positive” sense of the word.

About 9 years ago I had serious spinal cord injury. I lost most of the feeling and use of my arms and legs and lost things like bladder and bowel control. The doctors said I might never walk again. I was pretty much facing losing everything, my health, savings, ability to work etc. Fortunately I had some training in Qigong, which is an ancient Chinese healing system. I kept doing whatever practices I could to try and get better. After a couple of difficult years of recovery I was fairly mobile again. I had burned through all my savings and gone deeply into debt and I couldn’t really go back to a full time job because of my condition.
I had to figure out a way to try to make a living again. I began experimenting with Qigong healing and found that I had a gift to help others with their health and well being. I discovered that I could help people with distant energy healing and now work with people from all over the world to help them regain their health and well being. The Internet has provided me a way to do this. I am very grateful for the opportunities to be able to do this and recover my life. Internet marketing allows me to reach a vast market that not too long ago would not have been available to me.
Often in tragedy there is a blessing. Without my accident I don’t think I would ever be doing what I now and I love it and it helps so many people.
Many people when they go through difficult circumstances like health or money problems realize what is really important to them.
Thank you VERY MUCH for the Steve Jobs video… very inspiring. So are your stories Lupe & Carlos. I had a easy life until I lost my wife a few years ago due to a drug overdose. We were partners in a staffing business which we started in the 1990’s when we were in our 20’s . We knew nothing about the staffing biz, but we starting making money within 6 weeks of placing an ad in a Telecom industry trade pub. We eventually made millions, had clients like AT&T, a nice office and employees. Then she died in 2000. 9/11 killed off what business was left and I had to let the employees go. Moved to florida in 2003, had a baby boy with a girlfriend I met on the interenet… what a blessing to have a son…. he’s now 6. I tried to continue the staffing biz and did ok until 2007, then decided to get into internet marketing because of the income potential. I bought every ebook that came along. Tried marketing products from CJ & Clickbank using google PPC and rarely made a profit. Making money on the internet is NOT easy. At least I have learned now what NOT to do and what doesn’t work. But I now have a credit card charged up to $50,000 and a business account charged up to $44,000 and this month I won’t be able to make the payments. So the interest on the $50,000 credit card will probably go from 14% to 30% so I may have to file for bankruptcy. I received a gas shutoff notice today and I had a hard time coming up with $55 to pay them so them won’t shut of the gas. Hard to beleive. Even though the current situation seems insurmountable, I am optomistic that success is near. It is inspiring to see success stories like yours, Lupe and Steve Jobs and others who did not let failure stand in the way of their success. I have some outstanding domains and business ideas if I can just get the funding by selling a few of my websites or a 1988 transam. I have one site which has over 9000 subscribers and 60,000 page views a month, so if anyone might be interested, please let me know
