I have really been thinking about what I want to give to you.
I have made up my mind but before I tell you I need you to know why I chose this.

So afraid that you are speechless, to the point that just for a second you feel numb?
See when Carlos said “I want to sell this product online and I want to become a real company”.
I was shocked!
This meant leaving his 9 to 5 job and completely eliminating our main source of income.
I do not recall anything else he said after that because all I could think of was, I have never been the sole income provider. I was scared I began to tell myself what if I fail then where will I get money from. What will we eat most importantly where will my baby get her food from.
I have to make sure to pay bills, put food on the table and pay the mortgage I was scared it kind of felt like the clock stop ticking and I was in shock.
When Carlos finally stopped speaking and asked “What do you think?” I said certainly I can do it. I was not sure as a matter of fact I was already thinking of looking for a night shift.
Looking back all I can recall are the many mistakes and the many questions I had. Now I see how we just went into the business blind sided.
We had no one that we can really stop and ask “Excuse me how do you make money online?”
This is when it came to me. I know that the gift I chose to give you will have either a big or small impact on your life.
I read some of the replies with the ideas that were sent in things like a new diamond, Money etc…
So I thought to myself… Yes, I can easily give you money or any small meaningless item. But the real value would be if I could somehow download my knowledge into your brain.
See I would have given anything to have someone guide me every step of the way. To tell me things like “Before you sign this IO you must know the following terms, or Before you spend $1000.00 in an e-mail drop make sure you test your subject lines to get a good open rate.
My body starts to shake and my heart begins to pound as I think of all the mistakes we learned the hard way and all the downfalls we had to endure. To get to where we are today.

I don’t get how to scale a campaign like the super affiliates do. They say add more long-tail keywords, split testing your landing page elements, split test ads, get higher payouts, etc etc.
I’ve found it difficult to be able to make different changes and find out which one is working. There are so many places to optimize (Ad Text, Bid Prices, Landing Page Elements, Which Offer To Use, etc) that it makes it difficult to find out what makes a campaign work.
Can you guys through through how to optimize and scale campaigns after testing an offer? Like what should you focus on first, second, third…?
I think I have the testing part down, sort of, but if you can go over how you guys initiate a campaign too, that would be awesome also!

You keep going on about how you want to give something back but all you are really offering is bait for your next product.
I find it quite alarming that you are encouraging people to go in debt for huge amounts of money when you know full well yourselves about the 20/80 rule.
You mention that some of your students are earning big bucks now but you don’t mention the others that have fallen by the wayside and found themselves hocked to the eyeballs.
If you really want to give something back stop drip feeding and offer something of real worth, instead of writing syrupy emails that are full of shite. I mean, how many of these posts will you respond to? Not many I’ll bet.

work and how. Solo ads, there seems so much
to learn and finding the right way is overwhelming. Help and guidance from someone who has been there and done it.
First, I want to thank you for asking for our input. Few “gurus” really do. They simply tell us what they want to tell us without first finding out what our skill level is. Most of the stuff they share is either over our heads or too basic to be useful.
Another area where the gurus often go awry is providing us with “what to do” information rather than “how to do” information. The “how to” is much more useful and usable than “what to do”. Of course this is so that we don’t figure out things and they can sell us their next “can’t miss” seminar.
An example of what to do is:
“You’re going to want to set up an account with Google to get traffic.”
An example of “how to” is:
“Here’s how you set up an account, what the questions they ask you mean, what is important and what isn’t and what all these things mean…”
Where as “setting up an account with Google” may be old hat to you. For many of us, this is a missing piece. We have no idea what we’re doing and the other “gurus” simply gloss over these details.
I’ve watched your videos and was extremely impressed with what you presented and the quality of the information. Really down to earth information. Helped me to see the “bigger picture” and how through a step by step process I could duplicate your success and profitability.
What I am hoping next is to see a more detailed breakdown of the “how to”.
Just by reviewing your intro videos I’ve learned more and understood more than I could ever hope to learn or understand from the numerous self-proclaimed gurus out there.

I’m looking for something realistic. Telling me that I should first invest $500 to test one headline and another $500 to test another and to continue to invest $500 in each test until I find the right headline isn’t realistic. For many of us $500 is our whole budget.

how do you sift through all the possible niche ideas to come up with the best one when you’re starting out and you really to get SOME cash flow going. Also how do you get TARGETED traffic within the niche you choose?
Getting the package all put together ready to promote for someone with minimum funds seems to be an overwhelming task. More than the funds what if i do it all wrong?
For instance getting the squeeze page made , the copy for it, testing the conversion of your web page seems to be a deal stopper when you are where I am at.
If I was at that point with limited fear I probably could test and manage to grow the business.
I feel and know the pain and fear you expressed above.
Seems everything in my life is riding on being able to do something such as this for my interim solution.

The solution has to be so close yet so far far away when you are inexperienced and unproven at this.

First, thanks for caring about those who are just starting out and offering your advise and tips. The videos you have been sharing for free has been awesome.
Getting targeted traffic is probably the most important thing to anyone who has a website or products to sell.
I noticed in the videos that Carlos recommended Adbrite and at least one pop under network. I tried using Adbrite some time ago and found it has a good deal of click fraud. It also seems that most pop under impressions which an advertiser pays for these days are wasted because most people do not read pop ups or unders.
Some of the other networks Carlos recommended has minimum orders on $2,500 and up. So it seems that google is still the cheapest way for advertisers on a limited budget to get traffic unless they use blackhat alternative methods.
The point I’m trying to make is what ever recommendations you can make regarding the most cost effective “bang for the buck” advertising methods and sources you can recommend would be most helpful for those on tight budgets.

I think you have done a great job with the information that you have presented. I have been faced with a very limited buget and unable to have the funds to pay for testing which is vitally important.
I think somehow it would be great to let people know upfront and estimate how much money students will need to pay tuition and testing for converstion with ad networks.

To be honest, the information that Carlos and Lupe offer is super good……..
BUT
It’s for someone who is advanced and making about $10,000 per month and up. I have to warn you all about getting into advanced programs when you are not on that level yet.
It’s a huge mistake!
I did it with a $5,000 real estate course and have been to court 3 times listening to “gurus” tell me it’s easy and just go do it. Sometimes that is good advice, but other times it can get you into trouble.
The advice the Carlos and Lupe offer is great, but is of no use to someone just starting.
To those of you that don’t know this yet: Marketers who send “personal letters” and “friendly notes” really don’t care about you. It’s just another part of a marketing message. I am NOT saying that they are not good people, but 5,000 people are receiving the same message.
I’ve learned to put up my own opt-in pages in an hour (with copy and all), how to insert an opt-in autoresponder form, and send traffic to it (social media, paid traffic - under $20 per month, and producing articles and video).
I can shoot video, edit it, put it on my site, build the opt-in page, write the sales letter, and have a payment button on the site all within 2 days. Like someone said above, it’s simple when you know what you’re doing.
I’ll tell you a gold mine for learning what you need to know. Now-a-days, all the big launches come with a lot of freebies to “pull you in”. If you take all that free stuff and read between the lines on some of the things that they are trying to hide, you can have a great site without much testing. They’ll tell you what works on their sites and I’ll just stick it in.
Like with the recent StomperNet launch (stompernet.net), they have a big promotion giving away $10,000 in free products from every major internet marketer! It some great stuff.
Like another smart person observed above, there is a launch every three days, literally! Get off all those lists and stay with your top 2-3 marketers. Mine are Frank Kern, StomperNet, Mark Joyner.
If you do this, email won’t suck up all your time, and you can concentrate! Good luck to all. And if you wanted to know, I am currently making $250/month online after about 2 months at this.

However, I have never really done anything on the internet, like “cutting & pasting” certain codes. What if I don’t grab the right thing? How can I test it to make sure I did it right?
Like someone commented, how can we find someone we can trust to help us with the creatives, landing pages, order pages, etc? How do I even properly explain what I need done?
I want to speed up my personal learning process. It is just having to learn “everything”, not just some of what you are teaching. Even the simple things you do, like setting up the “tags”?
I work full time, I study all the video’s, including the bonuses, etc. When I am not at the computer, I am reading books you suggested. By no means am I taking this “gift” you have already given me for granted.
So is here my biggest question. Can I come and sit down and do “the guys” work for 2 weeks and have them just tell me what I am suppose to do and how I am suppose to do it?

4. What metrics to focus on? And their importance.
5. Spreadsheet to calculate product profit potential.

6. Examples on how to test “Headlines”, “Copy” etc…using emails.
7. Sequence of creatives. Banners—Landing Page w/Opt-in box—
Order page—-Thank you page w/Upsell product? Or what?
8. Estimated costs of running a campaign.
9. What to say to an “Account Manager” to start an ad network media buy.
Your videos alone provided enough information to run with and make some really good money. But my reluctance is that some of the important missing details could be costly.

3.) a scalable version of PPA reducing the risk of a first time mistake to a manageable level.
Love you guys, appreciate your help, but the scale is out of reach. Need someplace to start for almost zero, funds have been fed to the GURUs til there’s no more left.

to me, the biggest challenge is the tracking and testing tech, it’s so complex to set up with subids etc, also for someone on a v small budget, it’s hard to roll out enough traffic to get enough stats to get a campaign into positive figures.
I believe that the number one problem most have is choosing what product (s) to promote as affiliate since creating your own products is different kind of beast.
Leving aside Clickbank and PayDotCom, Amazon and E-Bay. Focusing on Commission Junction perhaps and others alike. What is the process of selecting a winning product, and then best ways to find and send traffic to that site, track conversions and improve on it?

I’ve never gotten good traffic from Adwords or the ad networks.
Also, volumes tend to be low, takes forever to get enough hits.
Can’t get meaningful statistics without targeted traffic…

How do I take our offline business and create an online presence? Additionally, how do we create products that people want vs. what I think they want and sell them effectively online? We work in the field of Business Coaching and Consulting.

Thanks for this generous offer. I know its going to be impossible to please everyone in a 2 hour call but I will attempt to phrase my questions such that they can help a large percentage of responders, including myself.
There is a huge barrier to entry (both at the emotional level and the financial level). How would you coach someone who wanted to:
1. Start with a budget of $1,000 or $2,000 and needed to grow that into a business that pays the bills (ie, $5,000 a month income). So, that would encompass picking a product to promote, getting initial traffic, testing your sales message (affiliate presell), then scaling the traffic (within your financial limits).
2. Once the bills have been taken care of, how would you safely expand your business to the next level. Safety is a relative term but I along with many others would not have the guts to sign an IO for $100,000 a month until I had at least half that amount in a reserve fund.
In a nutshell, we all are at different levels. If you could pretend that a family member was working a 9 to 5 job and they had $1,000 or $2,000 to spend on a business venture, what would you say to them so that they could start:
a) making a consistent $20 to $50 a day
then get them to start:
b) making a consistent $100 to $200 a day
then get them to start:
c) making a consistent $500 to $1000 a day
And keep in mind, we are all trying to limit our risks. But that also means that once we had a system earning $100 to $200 a day, it should become trivial to ramp it up by getting more traffic of equivalent quality. The big hump, however, is getting people to the $200 a day level?
Or am I wrong? Can someone swing for the fences and get to the $500 a day level in a short time frame while limiting risks? Personally, I feel that if I had a business that paid all the bills consistently then I would be much more open to expand my thinking because of that cushion.
What ads and ad sizes have worked best for you?
What vendors and rent-a-geek services have been most reliable?

I think for many the biggest single obstacle is focus, time and money. Mine isn’t about fear it’s about not having time. Focus is always a huge issue, especially when one can’t afford to outsource or pay for huge advertisements.
Please advise.
Fear is just a small part of the equation.
There is the lack of support from family and friends who all say it won’t work, you’re doomed to fail etc.
Overcoming these issues are a biggie. There’s always this memory in the back of your mind that says “They’re right” or worse yet is the horrible feeling of not succeeding, especially when you have been lied to by so many “so called” gurus.

It seems like the trend in PPC Marketing is to build out thin landing pages to test and then expand the page if it converts well.

I’m working with CPA networks and having difficulty getting their offers to convert anywhere near the rates they say they’re getting. I started with AdBrite and moved to Google’s content network with text ads. Once the text ads start working, I would introduce banners. What else should I be doing?

The suggestion of a step-by-step road map is nice, but I believe if you help us learn the questions that most need answering, that would lead to the answers we need.

Having read all of the replies it’s obvious that traffic is a major issue. In my few months of dabbling online, it would appear to me that there are 2 ways of getting traffic:
Free - which means spending a lot of time out on social sites being a blogger
or
Paid - for which the amount you have to spend will determine how much traffic - targetted or not you will get.
Am I right? If there are other ways I’d be interested in hearing about them.
I recently bought a course that does outline step by step how to set up a campaign. This particular course uses Adwords and they said that to get a good sense of whether the campaign is a winner or not, you really want to have around $500. to throw at it - that maybe you could do it with less, but it’s difficult.
Would you agree with that? Avoiding Google - can you do something similar with the Ad networks? Without the expense of using a 3rd party for numbers, at least in the early stages when finances are an issue, can you get from the networks the tracking stats that you need to do split testing?
Did you say in one of your posts or on a video that you find you get better conversions if you don’t have the offer on the landing page? I know you said to have just one call to action. So examples of landing pages and opt-ins would be great.
I think both Reggie and Glen have great lists of topics to cover.

First of all, many thanks to you and Carlos for shedding light on the inner workings of successful internet marketing. When I first started studying internet marketing in February, I came across the Traffic Tactics presentations you guys were posting online and it gave me huge inspiration! I started slowly, cautiously testing the waters to make sure I wouldn’t lose my shirt, and spending lots of time doing research. I finally made my first move in May, and though it’s just a drop in the bucket I’ve made about $12,000 online since then. Now that I feel more comfortable, and I KNOW it’s really possible to make money online, I think I’m ready to step up and start a more serious campaign.
I’m sure you’ve been asked the same question many times, but here it is anyway: what would you recommend as a fairly safe way to make your first $1000 ad spend to drive traffic? I realize that after I have more to work with it will become a little easier and I’ll have more options, but I want to build my campaign coffers safely for now, and wait to try more risky methods later, when I can afford to take a loss (and learn from it, of course!).

Yes you can use banners for affiliate marketing you just need to be very careful on how you set up your CPA goals and make sure that in your bounty there is enough room to do media buys.

I am curious about your system of building credit with companies. I have it on my agenda to soon as I can join your traffic university or take one of your seminars …in the meantime for getting companies as references do they care what kind of companies they are? Eg if you have been doing business in another field and have credit with say construction sup[pliers will YAhoo advertising count that or do they look for other companies in the same field as them eg ad networks etc?
ALso how much money do you need to get to this level? DUn And Bradstreet is 800 bucks, to get 10,000 credit from each company you need 10,000 in your bank and then for an adserver you need it seems minimum 5000 to 10,000 for minimum orders and training? so basically to play the game at the level you teach I would need close to 30-50k? Is this correct?

I think Lupe and Carlos are smart in that the more we post, the better the PR for their blog. Which isn’t inherently evil in itself. I am posting and do not have a problem with that. But, instead of waiting for them to answer, a lot of us are capable of giving advice based off of our experience, trial and error. First, affiliate programs only work if you have a big list of folk who will compose targeted traffic. Second, for those with little money, you should go the mini-site route. Or the blog route. A lot of regular people are finding that blogs that are self-hosted can be rewarding. I know folk with a blog hosted by Blogger that are making money. The key word is focus. If you cannot do it all then outsource using services like Elance and Guru.com. Sometimes, you have to go back to the basics, lose all of the fancy, advanced techniques and re-train your self in using Myspace and Youtube and heck, printing biz cards and leaving them on college boards. Hope that helps.

Just put good content on your website and the traffic will come. Think of things you need, or useful information, if you site is easy to navigate and has great info people will keep going to it.
